October Newsletter for 3 and 4 year olds
3 year olds:
Language Arts- This month the children will be working on the theme of the Fall Season. We will discussing and looking at how the leaves change colors, the different vegetables that we see in the fall, especially Pumpkins. We will look at how the temperature is getting colder, make a leaf rubbing, we will be sorting leaves and acorns. The students will do many things that deal with the season of Fall. We will be looking at the colors black and orange this month. We will continue to discuss the concepts of small/big, in/out.
4 year olds:
Language Arts- The letters E-I (Upper and lower case) will be covered during this month. We will be doing many activities that will include elbow macaroni, farms, grapes, hearts, and ice cream. During language arts the children will also write the appropriate letter for the week. The first day of the week we also write words that begin with the appropriate letter.
The children will be introduced to words and pictures that begin with the letters E-I.
Both:
October Activities- We are going to Goebbert’s Pumpkin Farm in October.
The date of the trip is October 2nd. Information was sent home last week. If you have any questions about the trip please ask.
School Related Activities: There is half day of school on October 24th students get dismissed at 11:30. That means there is no afternoon preschool that day.
Reminder: Classroom treats are to be healthy in nature as mentioned at Open House. Snack may consist of pretzels, jello, pudding, oreos, goldfish, etc. Students are only to bring cupcakes on the day they are celebrating their birthday.
